The kidlit community is a supportive collective known for its encouragement, engagement, and generous spirit. By extension, Fireworks & Foliage will support debut picture book creators whose books will be released in the second half of 2018 through:
1. Promotion, such as social media boosts;
2. Camaraderie, using a private Facebook group;
3. Connections, using our collective social media reach to connect to a wider audience.
It is my hope that the benefits of this group will reach beyond us and out into the wider kidlit world of authors, illustrators, teachers, librarians, and parents. Fireworks & Foliage will aim to offer:
1. Blog posts by debut members on a variety of topics;
2. Giveaways and challenges;
3. A calendar of events and Book Birthday announcements.
